CMCH Synopsis:
Video Intervention/Prevention Assessment (VIA) is a way for children and adolescents to show doctors their lives with chronic illness. Participants record their personal experiences with illness using video-cameras over the course of 12-16 weeks. The completed video is analyzed by experts in medicine, anthropology, psychology and social work. Participants in VIA studies have shown improvement in their quality of life and have become more active partners in the treatment of their chronic disease. © Center on Media and Child Health
